Test Run Completed and Successful
Successful Test Event under ISU Supervision
Safety for participants assured and conduct of the racing and rules ISU certified

On Sunday, February 9, 2020, the ICE1 220m Track Test Run was conducted under the supervision
of the International Skating Union (ISU) at Thialf Ice Stadium in Heerenveen, the Netherlands.
The Test Run is an ISU requirement to ensure the health and safety of skaters participating
in an event featuring a proposed novelty.

The size and shape of the ICE1 220m track at Thialf are 100% compliant with ISU Speed Skating Rules.

The conduct of ICE1 races follows ISU rulebooks, with only minor exceptions agreed upon by the ISU and adapted to the ICE1 race program to further ensure the health and safety of participating skaters, considering the 220m track and the positioning of the moveable padding at Thialf.

The boarding/padding complied with the specifications outlined in ISU Communication 2128 for Short Track Speed Skating padding.

Medical coverage exceeded the requirements set forth in ISU Communication No. 2267 regarding On-Ice Medical Emergencies Protocol.

Flying 1-lap time trials were successfully conducted.

3-lap mass start races with a standing start were successfully conducted.

5-lap mass start races with a neutral 1-lap rolling start were successfully conducted.

7-lap mass start races with a neutral 1-lap rolling start were successfully conducted in an ISU-sanctioned Speed Skating Mass Start Race, following ISU rules and all relevant ISU communications pertaining to Speed Skating Mass Start Races.
ICE1 would like to thank all that were involved in making this ISU Required Test Run a successful reality.

on the ICE1 220m track at Thialf do not put their health and safety in jeopardy.
